The Perfect Monologue
I had written a monolgue and then decided no tto use it for an audition. I shared it with Arthur who loved it and decided he wanted to use it. After agreeing I came up with this idea and may end up using this for my own audition instead.
Now, see here. I had this AWESOME monologue written up about a girl and her craziness and falling in love but I gave it away. That’s right. I up and gave away...
My Monologue
What kind of girl am I? What kind of question is that!? You see my kind every day! We are everywhere you go. (pause) I’m the type of girl who will get hit by a parked car, apologize to a chair after walking into it and push a door that says pull. I’m the type of girl who slips and falls right after pointing out the wet floor sign to someone else, trips over nothing, and still puts her hand against...
Untitled Spring Poem
The
Silent
Shimmering
Star studded sky
Surrounds snow splashed
Fields and forest floors.
Orion
Smiles
Serenely down
On Maple, Oak, and Birch
Softly swaying in
Susurrous spring
Wisps of wind.
As Cassiopeia
Carefully
Creeps
Across the crisp,
Clear,
Horizon,
We freely follow frosted
Footprints
Finally fading.
We Slow.
We Stop.
Ahead a
Simple, Sleek
Slim, Surefooted doe

Skids...

Confusion
I take your arm as we walk
side by side
talking
laughing
You “don’t mind” you say.
I asked.
We end up holding hands,
we sit on a bench,
You’ve put your arm around me so
I move in closer.
Misread signs from both.
We head back
arm in arm
- for safety.
-just because.
“Things are different now,” you say.
You ask questions
smile
laugh then…
“I’m not ready for holding hands.”
“OK.” I say. “I’m sorry.”

The Red Dress
Bremen
“Eile! Hurry! Henriette, we must go now or we shall miss our ship!” Mami scolded Henriette this morning.
John, Christine, and I were waiting patiently in the neighbors’ wagon, waiting to be taken to the docks, as Papa and Mama made certain we had all we needed for our trip. Baby Marie was sleeping safely in John’s lap. Mami almost never scolded us. She was always warm and forever smiling...
Knocking
Here I am! I stand at your door and I knock. Please, Open the door to your heart and
let
me
in. I will never leave you, though, at times, YOU will walk away from me. I am God. My love
is
eternal. I will never fail you. So… I am still at your door. Open it now? Let
me
enter. For I am yours, And YOU,
My child,
Are MINE.
Untitled Poem
He
is the warm spring rain,
gently coaxing me,
his flower,
to awaken and greet
the sun.
MirrorIrorriM
There sits the mirror – a thing of
truth
of lies.
Gaze into its depths or
scratch it surface.
“I,” says the mirror, “see all.”
“Nothing can you hide.”
Light glints off the glass
a precious beauty gazes intently-
into?
out of?
How can one be sure of what they see?
Look! You see the outer.
Glance! See only that you wish you see.
Study! See all, even within.
The mirror tells all…if you
are...
